Figma React.js TypeScript Storybook Design System Design Tokens accessibility

We're hiring a Design Engineer to sit across our design and engineering teams. This person will build, own, and maintain our design system — working across Figma and React to design and ship design at a production standard. We're excited about this role — you'll be working directly with the Heads and Directors of Design and Technology to shape it from the ground up.

The role is biased toward design. You should have strong design sensibility — you care deeply about typography, spacing, interaction quality, and the details that compound into how a product feels. You also need to be able to build what you design in production-quality React.

We are not looking for a design system designer without engineering experience. We are not looking for an engineer without design experience. We are looking for someone with design system experience who can do both.

Your tasks

Building, owning, and maintaining the design system as a production-ready React component library, including Storybook, design tokens, and documentation
Designing and developing user interfaces in both Figma and React code, collaborating closely with design and engineering teams in real time
Defining, documenting, and managing a scalable contribution process to enable teams to adopt and extend the design system
Implementing and rolling out the design system across products while maintaining clear adoption roadmaps
Ensuring consistency, quality, and accessibility by establishing component standards, validating design-to-code alignment, and contributing to design reviews
Prototyping rapidly and leveraging AI tools to explore variations, validate ideas early, and accelerate delivery without compromising craft

Requirements

At least 5 years of presenting a portfolio or personal site that demonstrates design thinking and problem-solving, not just delivered work
Demonstrating strong design fundamentals, including layout, typography, color, interaction design, and motion
Leading and defending design decisions in Figma with confidence and clarity
Writing production-quality React and TypeScript code, focused on clean, maintainable components rather than prototypes
Bringing proven design system experience, having built, contributed to, or maintained component libraries using Storybook, design tokens, and documentation
Proficiency in English is a must

Завдання

Створення, володіння та підтримка системи дизайну як готової до виробництва бібліотеки React-компонентів, включаючи Storybook, токени дизайну та документацію
Проектування та розробка користувацьких інтерфейсів у коді як на Figma, так і на React, тісна співпраця з командами дизайнерів та інженерів у режимі реального часу
Визначення, документування та управління масштабованим процесом внеску, щоб дати можливість командам приймати та розширювати систему проектування
Впровадження та розгортання системи проектування у всіх продуктах, зберігаючи при цьому чіткі дорожні карти впровадження
Забезпечення узгодженості, якості та доступності шляхом встановлення стандартів компонентів, перевірки відповідності дизайну та коду, а також участі в оглядах дизайну
Швидке створення прототипів і використання інструментів штучного інтелекту для вивчення варіантів, ранньої перевірки ідей і прискорення доставки без шкоди для ремесла

Наші очікування

Щонайменше 5 років представлення портфоліо або персонального сайту, який демонструє дизайнерське мислення та вирішення проблем, а не просто виконану роботу
Демонструвати сильні основи дизайну, включаючи макет, типографіку, колір, дизайн взаємодії та рух
Впевнено та чітко представляти та захищати дизайнерські рішення у Figma
Написання якісного коду на React та TypeScript, орієнтованого на чисті, зручні в обслуговуванні компоненти, а не на прототипи
Наявність перевіреного досвіду роботи з системами проектування, створення, участі у створенні або підтримці бібліотек компонентів з використанням Storybook, токенів дизайну та документації
Володіння англійською мовою є обов'язковим
