Facilitating Mercator Medical’s upgrade to Windows 11
In a recent collaboration, Sii assisted Mercator Medical, an international manufacturer of medical gloves, in migrating from Windows 10 to Windows 11. Utilizing Microsoft Intune, Sii streamlined device management and cloud integration across six countries.
— Previously, each regional office manually managed device distribution, leading to inconsistencies and high operating costs. By automating device onboarding through Intune, we enabled new computers to be shipped directly from suppliers to employees, who could set them up independently using Autopilot. This approach reduced the workload on regional IT teams, standardizing the setup process across all locations — says Andrzej Majewski, Solution Architect at ITO Competency Center at Sii Poland.
As part of the project, Sii also implemented a cloud-based solution for printer management, enabling migration and the creation of Cloud Print functionality. This allowed printers to communicate over the network within a cloud environment, eliminating another on-premises server from the client’s infrastructure and further reducing the costs associated with maintaining on-premises resources. Intune ensured consistent deployment of Windows 11, applications, and security configurations across all devices. Additional security was achieved through Conditional Access, which restricted access to corporate resources exclusively to registered, encrypted devices, protecting sensitive data from unauthorized access and potential breaches.
