The client was executing numerous industrial projects in multiple countries, including in Asia. With growing demand for drivetrain components, it needed to increase production capacity and commission new assembly stations for internal-combustion engines.
However, the client’s engineering departments were fully occupied with ongoing projects. There were not enough resources for the design, integration, and testing of new stations—creating a risk of delays and disruptions in global deliveries.
To maintain project velocity and ensure top execution quality, the organization chose to work with trusted technology partner Sii. Sii experts were tasked with delivering complete, fully tested stations ready for seamless integration into the existing assembly line – freeing the client to focus on strategic global initiatives.
Comprehensive turnkey delivery – from design to on-site commissioning
To meet the client’s requirements, Sii carried out the full engineering and production process—from concept design to commissioning ready-to-run assembly stations at the client’s plant. The project required close collaboration across mechanics, electrical engineering, automation, and PLC software, and the precise integration of all subsystems into a single, fully functional solution.
Sii’s scope covered:
- Mechanical and electrical design of the stations – including structures, pick-and-place subsystems, pressing stations, measurement systems (leakage tests), machine vision, and RFID/Cognex handling
- PLC software development and integration – control-logic preparation, communications with master systems (PROFINET), and functional testing
- Build and testing at Sii’s Gdańsk facility (1,000 m²) – full integration, work-cycle simulation, component testing, and parameter optimization prior to shipment
- Turnkey delivery and commissioning – transport of finished stations to the client’s factories, including the VinFast site in Vietnam; installation, final testing, and handover to production
- Ramp-up support and optimization – parameter tuning, final tests, validations, and transfer to the production department
As a result, the client received fully tested, production-ready stations that could be integrated into the existing line immediately. The project demanded a high level of coordination and precision, confirming Sii’s capability to execute complex industrial programs end-to-end.
