Digitalization of education in Denmark has accelerated rapidly in recent years. Schools across the country increasingly rely on interactive learning materials and online tools. Each new Alinea product – from digital textbooks to interactive learning modules – required fast and accurate license handling for thousands of users at the same time.
The existing licensing system was not designed for such dynamic growth. During peak usage periods, it:
- Slowed down account activation
- Generated errors in permission assignment
- Made integration with new education products difficult
- Increased the workload for school administrators and Alinea’s support teams
For an organization delivering e-learning content to hundreds of schools nationwide, this created tangible risks: system overload during high-traffic periods, lower satisfaction among teachers and students, and delays in launching new services.
To sustain growth and ensure reliable service for a rapidly expanding user base, Alinea needed a highly available architecture capable of handling thousands of real-time requests, seamlessly integrating new products, and providing full control over licensing.
This led to a partnership with Sii Poland, selected to redesign key components of the solution and build a scalable subscription and licensing system suited for nationwide operations.
A centralized licensing and subscription platform for digital education across Denmark
Sii Poland designed and implemented a new licensing system for Alinea, replacing the legacy solution. A multidisciplinary team – including solution architects, developers, testers, UX designers, and DevOps engineers – delivered the project end to end, from requirements analysis through deployment and post-launch technical support.
The scope of work included:
- Designing the system architecture
- Developing UX and UI concepts
- Building the core licensing and subscription platform
- Testing all system components
- Deploying the production-ready solution
- Creating a centralized admin console for managing licenses, users, customers, and products
- Implementing Single Sign-On (SSO) for user authentication and authorization
As a result, Alinea gained a modern, stable, and scalable system that enables real-time license and subscription management and supports a growing number of schools and users without service interruptions.

The new solution became Alinea’s central hub for managing licenses and subscriptions. Administrative teams gained full visibility and control over user access, while end users benefited from a fast and intuitive login and product activation process.
Thanks to a microservices-based architecture, Alinea can now:
- Introduce new products and features without downtime
- Activate users and issue licenses faster
- Handle a growing number of schools and subscriptions with higher performance
- Ensure service continuity even under heavy system load
The project provided Alinea with a stable, scalable technology foundation that supports the continued development of digital education solutions and enables further expansion of its e-learning offering.
