Stronger cyberattack resilience for a global group

Standardizing cybersecurity in a global organization

With a broad network of production sites, the organization struggled to maintain a consistent security baseline in OT environments. Ongoing automation and tighter integration of control systems with IT expanded the attack surface, while local plants followed different standards and procedures. This lack of uniformity hindered centralized risk management, created reporting inconsistencies, and limited the ability to respond quickly to threats.

In addition, the absence of regular vulnerability reviews and OT-focused penetration testing meant critical gaps could go undetected – raising the risk of production disruptions and costly downtime. The organization needed a partner to standardize security processes across factories, implement consistent controls, and design a single OT security architecture for all sites—preparing plants for increasingly demanding internal and external audits.

Integrated OT security support

Sii Poland delivered a comprehensive OT security program that included:

  • Factory-level security reviews – detailed analysis of OT networks, control devices, and SCADA systems to identify critical gaps.
  • Penetration testing – simulation of real-world attack scenarios to verify system resilience against takeover attempts or production disruption.
  • Consistent security architecture – a unified protection model for all plants, covering OT network segmentation, access control, monitoring mechanisms, and integration with IT systems.
  • Process standardization – global procedures for penetration testing, vulnerability reporting, and risk management.
  • Advisory and oversight – support in prioritizing remediation actions, coordinating local and central teams, and supervising implementation of recommendations.

Safer infrastructure and consistent processes

With Sii Poland’s support, the organization significantly increased the cyber resilience of its manufacturing sites. Critical OT vulnerabilities were eliminated, and a unified security architecture established consistent protection standards across all factories. Standardized processes – from penetration testing to reporting and risk management – enabled centralized visibility of security posture and faster incident response. As a result, the company gained greater predictability, tighter control over OT environments, and improved stability of key production systems.
