Digital document workflow across HR operations
User-friendly HR apps built with SAP Fiori
Paper-based HR processes causing delays and errors
With a growing workforce and expanding operations, Magna sought to unify and simplify its global HR processes. The organization operated with various local models for request handling and document management, which made tracking statuses, reporting, and ensuring a consistent employee experience more difficult.
The company’s goal was to move toward a fully digital HR model that would enable quick approvals, mobile access to personal data, and increased employee autonomy in handling everyday HR tasks. Deploying self-service tools was also aligned with Magna’s broader digitalization strategy and goal to reduce administrative costs.
To achieve this, Magna partnered with Sii Poland — a certified SAP partner with over 90 experts and full-service capabilities across the SAP project lifecycle, including development, deployment, and support of SAP environments for global enterprises.
A DIGITAL HR PLATFORM POWERED BY SAP FIORI/UI5
To simplify HR processes, improve mobility, and ensure easy access to essential functions, Sii Poland designed and deployed SAP Fiori/UI5 applications fully integrated with the client’s SAP HCM module.
Project scope included:
- Building intuitive self-service apps for submitting absences, approving overtime, and reviewing work schedules
- Configuring SAP Fiori and SAP HCM systems with custom extensions using UI5 and ABAP
- Preparing user roles and access rights
- Designing the user interface and conducting usability testing with end users
- Full project management, end-user training, and post-go-live support
The result: a modern, self-service HR tool available across desktop and mobile devices, as well as interactive kiosks located in manufacturing facilities.
FASTER HR OPERATIONS AT A GLOBAL SCALE
The solution delivered by Sii Poland gave Magna’s employees convenient access to SAP Fiori applications — via smartphones and kiosk terminals in production sites. Managers can now approve schedules and overtime requests faster, while HR teams are relieved from manually processing documents.
This significantly improved HR service delivery reduced errors caused by paper-based processes and laid the foundation for further digitalization of HCM operations worldwide.
