Key results
Improved user experience with an intuitive, patient-focused interface
Increased the pace of platform development while meeting quality requirements for medical systems
A new hospital clinical system for multiple markets
The new system needed to support the full continuum of care – from patient admission and diagnostics orders to prescriptions, procedures, billing, and discharge – while providing fast, intuitive access to clinical data for different user groups, including physicians, nurses, and administrative staff. It also had to scale across facilities and countries, reflecting local regulations and specific clinical workflows.
As CGM expanded its e-health portfolio, it needed a technology partner to strengthen backend, frontend, and quality engineering, while also supporting product teams working in the SAFe model. The goal was to sustain a high delivery pace for CGM Clinical, deliver a complete functional scope for large deployments – especially in Austrian hospitals – and build a solid foundation for future implementations in other markets. Also the goal of meeting the safety and reliability expectations typical of mission-critical healthcare systems was met.
A JOINT CGM–SII PRODUCT TEAM AND SAFE-BASED DEVELOPMENT OF CGM CLINICAL
Sii Poland joined CGM’s R&D organization as a long-term technology partner, co-responsible for developing CGM Clinical – a new, patient-centric hospital information system. Work was delivered using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), designed for large, complex IT systems.

The collaboration included, among others:
- Co-developing the CGM Clinical core by delivering modules responsible for clinical documentation workflows
- Designing and building a user interface that enables rapid access to clinical information and reduces administrative burden for staff
- Using Java and relational databases with a mature application framework to ensure stability and predictable evolution of the system
- Working as one integrated CGM–Sii team–joint planning, refinement, and reviews within SAFe, regular workshops, and close cooperation among analysts, developers, testers, and CGM domain experts
- Preparing for large hospital deployments by delivering the complete set of requirements, components, and configurations needed to launch and scale CGM Clinical
With this operating model, the Sii team became an integral part of CGM’s product organization – supporting both the technology and the delivery processes behind a next-generation hospital clinical system.
Faster rollouts and a better experience for clinicians and patients
The joint CGM and Sii Poland initiative enabled CGM Clinical to be prepared – on schedule – for a major deployment in Austrian hospitals and opened the path to further international implementations. A clear, user-friendly interface helps physicians and nurses access patient data, test results, and billing-related information in one place, reducing administrative work and improving day-to-day usability.
CGM Clinical supports a long-term vision of a unified electronic health record – secure, structured patient information flow across the entire care chain. The collaboration model developed with Sii – multidisciplinary teams, mature delivery practices, and deep healthcare domain understanding—can now be replicated for subsequent rollouts and new features, strengthening CGM’s position as one of the leading e-health providers.
