Building a consistent and scalable Atlassian environment
As the organization expanded and the number of IT projects grew, Modivo aimed to create a unified and scalable Atlassian environment that would effectively support collaboration across international teams and keep pace with the dynamic nature of e-commerce.
The existing Server-based setup worked well for a time, but with the company’s rapid growth came the need for greater centralization, simplified administration, and unified security and user management policies across countries.
The IT team began analyzing the architecture and future development direction of the Atlassian ecosystem, focusing on ensuring a smooth transition to the cloud and maintaining business continuity for all departments. The goal was not only to preserve system stability, but also to align the environment with Atlassian’s latest standards and leverage cloud-native capabilities to increase productivity and process transparency.
The planned end of support for Server instances accelerated the decision to migrate — viewed not as an obligation, but as a natural step toward a modern, integrated cloud infrastructure. Modivo selected Sii Poland due to its strong partnership with Atlassian, ensuring access to innovative tools and expert knowledge.
Atlassian Cloud audit, migration, and optimization
Sii Poland delivered a comprehensive project covering analysis, planning, migration, and post-implementation support. All activities were conducted using Agile methodology, with full transparency and regular progress reporting.
The scope of work included:
- conducting an environment audit and supporting decision-making regarding the optimal use of Atlassian tools
- migrating Jira Service Management together with the Assets module (formerly Insight) to Atlassian Cloud
- replacing unsupported plugins with cloud-compatible alternatives
- implementing Atlassian Access for centralized identity and security management
- supporting the organization and cleanup of the environment
- migrating Jira Software and Confluence in a Cloud-to-Cloud model
- knowledge transfer to Atlassian Cloud administrators through dedicated workshops
- optimization and delivery of all required Atlassian licenses
The new environment was cleaned of unnecessary configurations, simplified for easier maintenance, and fully prepared for further integration with Jira Software in a separate cloud organization.
A simpler environment, lower costs, and greater flexibility
Migration to Atlassian Cloud enabled Modivo to reduce the number of custom plugins and bespoke solutions, lowering maintenance costs and increasing system security. By leveraging native cloud functionalities, the organization gained a more performant, scalable, and reliable environment.
Simplified configuration and centralized user management improved IT process transparency and accelerated change implementation. For administrative teams, this means reduced operational workload; for end users – a more intuitive experience and faster system performance.
As confirmed in the reference letter from Wojciech Lewicki, IT Project Manager / Team Leader Technology PMO at Modivo S.A.:
“Sii demonstrated professionalism and expertise. The Atlassian team has the right competencies, experience, and skills to fully meet client needs. We confirm that the service was carried out professionally and diligently. We can recommend Sii as a trustworthy partner for Atlassian Cloud migration projects.”
