Reduced workload for staff by enabling patients to self-handle selected administrative requests
Faster delivery of new features through Agile/SAFe ways of working and release automation
One digital channel for accessing healthcare
Public healthcare in the Nordic countries is built on high service availability, but as digitalization accelerated, patient expectations moved beyond traditional contact channels. Patients wanted to book appointments, access information, and communicate with clinicians remotely – from home, work, or on the go – without long waits on the phone.
At the same time, hospitals and clinics faced increasing administrative workloads that reduced the time staff could spend on direct patient care. The lack of a single, consistent digital channel led to fragmented information, more manual handling of inquiries, and an inconsistent patient experience.
As a provider of leading e-health systems in Scandinavia, Cambio set out to build a mobile app that would bring informational, communication, and administrative capabilities into one secure channel, integrated with the existing healthcare IT infrastructure.
To deliver this vision while meeting strict medical data security requirements, Cambio needed a technology partner with proven experience in mobile healthcare projects and the ability to work in agile, multidisciplinary teams.
DESIGNING, DEVELOPING, AND MAINTAINING A HEALTHCARE APP
Sii Poland built a dedicated team working in Agile and within the SAFe framework, fully integrated with Cambio’s processes. The team delivered end-to-end development of the MinHälsa app – from feature ideation and design, through implementation, to deployment and maintenance.
Scope of work included:
- Building and evolving the mobile app using Flutter, enabling parallel support for Android and iOS
- Designing and refining the UI and overall user experience based on mockups prepared in close collaboration with the client
- Implementing new features and integrating the app with the client’s internal systems supporting patient and staff workflows
- Configuring and using monitoring tools for stability tracking and automated error reporting to accelerate incident resolution
- Preparing and publishing releases to the app stores (App Store and Google Play) and managing the update process
- Providing ongoing maintenance and support, including continuous delivery of new releases aligned with the product roadmap
Thanks to a multidisciplinary approach combining mobile engineering, UX, integration, and testing, MinHälsa could be developed quickly and reliably – while meeting the strict security standards required in healthcare.
healthcare services available in one simple mobile chanel
MinHälsa became a central point of contact for patients within the healthcare system, allowing them to handle many needs without visiting a facility. Patients gained more control over access to information and communication with medical staff, resulting in a more predictable and convenient healthcare experience.
For hospitals and clinics, this translated into fewer simple inquiries handled manually and better organization of administrative work. A consistent mobile channel integrated with internal systems improved information flow and reduced fragmentation in patient interactions.
Through its partnership with Sii Poland, Cambio gained an agile, scalable model for mobile application development – enabling faster feature delivery, sustained high levels of patient data security, and continued digitalization of healthcare across the Nordic region.
