In the banking sector, stable and modern financial systems are essential for efficient customer service, reporting, and regulatory compliance. To maintain high operational performance and prepare the system for the coming years, the bank planned to upgrade to a newer version of Microsoft Dynamics AX and gradually expand it with new functionalities aligned with evolving financial processes.
Given the multi-year horizon of the planned initiatives, the bank also required continuous access to a dedicated team of Dynamics specialists who would ensure project continuity, predictable delivery, and steady system development at an agreed pace.
To execute these tasks, the bank selected Sii Poland – a technology partner with over 200 specialists in the Dynamics 365 ERP Competency Center, official Microsoft partner status, and extensive experience in financial sector implementations.
Environment modernization and a dedicated Dynamics AX team
Sii Poland experts assumed full responsibility for the development and maintenance of the ERP system by establishing a dedicated Dynamics AX team to support the bank throughout the multi-year project. The work began with upgrading the environment to AX 2012, creating a stable foundation for further system development. Subsequent phases focused on enhancement initiatives, gradually extending the system’s use across new areas.
The scope of work included:
- Building a dedicated Dynamics AX specialist team (working in parallel onsite at the client’s office in Warsaw) to support the project over several years
- Upgrading Microsoft Dynamics from AX 2009 to AX 2012
- Developing and extending existing functionalities in line with business documentation, including:
- an automatic fee calculation module
- optimization of processes generating interbank reports
- development of SEPA transfer handling
- a corporate card management system (Prepaid and Charge cards)
- an integration model for transactional and online systems
- Preparation of technical project, implementation of changes, and developer testing
- Implementation of additional modules developed by Sii, including JPK (Standard Audit File for Tax) file handling
As a result, the bank received a stable, modernized system environment and a dedicated team of experts supporting the platform’s development throughout the long-term project.
A stable financial platform ready for growth and new services
The modernization of the AX system and ongoing support from Sii experts provided the organization with a stable financial platform that supports daily operations and is prepared for further expansion within planned services and processes.
The extension of system functionalities enabled automation of multiple key operational tasks. The automatic fee calculation module streamlined settlements for the use of the online access platform, while optimizing report generation processes accelerated the creation of interbank transfer reports. The development of the SEPA module ensured handling of euro-denominated transfers. Additionally, the dedicated corporate card management system improved the management of Prepaid and Charge cards. At the same time, the developed integration model for transactional and online systems standardized communication between applications used in financial and operational processes.
The ongoing cooperation model based on a dedicated Sii Poland team ensures predictable system development and further expansion within the framework of the multi-year project. The organization also benefits from advisory support regarding new functionalities and licensing within the Dynamics ecosystem, supporting continued system evolution toward subsequent modernization stages.
