They were also the reason for choosing Sii\u2019s engineering teams to support the production of the fastest models of Porsche electric cars in the scope of robotization, automation, and increasing efficiency of the manufacturer\u2019s production line.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Porsche, a world-renowned sports car manufacturer with over 80 years of tradition, releases annually almost 300 000 new cars meeting the highest safety standards. The car manufacturer needed the support of engineering teams experienced in the field of programming industrial robots and PLCs to optimize its\u2019 lines by implementing and commissioning automatic stations, and also to support the start of production.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fast\u00a0cars,\u00a0great\u00a0responsibility\u00a0and\u00a0time\u00a0pressure<\/h5>\n

Sii\u00a0Engineering Competence Center\u00a0was\u00a0asked to\u00a0support the German production line of\u00a0<\/span>Porsche\u00a0Taycan \u2013 the fastest electric car from Porsche, a strong competitor for the most powerful Tesla models. The manufacturer needed the assistance of a trusted engineering service provider in terms of robotization, automation, and improving the efficiency of the production workflow.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013<\/span>\u00a0Great responsibility,\u00a0the\u00a0huge scale\u00a0of the project,\u00a0and time pressure\u00a0were the\u00a0most\u00a0important aspects\u00a0of\u00a0this\u00a0cooperation.\u00a0<\/span>Sii engineering teams delivered ready, flawlessly working solutions in the shortest possible time,\u00a0even\u00a0before\u00a0the\u00a0given deadline.\u00a0We felt enormous responsibility while\u00a0building\u00a0cars\u00a0used by thousands of drivers on a daily basis. Therefore, providing the highest\u00a0safety\u00a0standards and the top quality of\u00a0the solutions\u00a0was a priority of ours\u00a0<\/span>\u2013<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>says Przemys\u0142aw Grzanka, Engineering Competency Center Director at Sii<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sii\u00a0provides\u00a0precision\u00a0and\u00a0extra\u00a0support<\/h5>\n

Sii specialists were responsible for the commissioning of automatic stations, modification and adjustment of programs to the introduced changes in the process and support of production to achieve full line efficiency. They also actively supported the client by proposing modifications and improvements.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Our\u00a0engineers\u00a0took part in the\u00a0critical\u00a0point of the production process in which front and rear windows, panoramic roofs, and spoilers were glued.\u00a0Sii\u00a0qualified teams consisted of robotics and control systems engineers working mostly on ABB 6-axis manipulators.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sii experts\u00a0proved their experience by presenting\u00a0great precision and accuracy of provided\u00a0solutions.\u00a0Otherwise,\u00a0a slight difference, even by a part of a millimeter, could result in an inaccurate adjustment of the assembled element in relation to the car\u2019s position. Furthermore,\u00a0a few minutes of downtime could generate thousands of losses for the\u00a0client.<\/span><\/p>\n

Along with\u00a0the\u00a0commissioning of automatic stations, Sii engineers\u00a0additionally\u00a0projected program checking another\u00a0crucial\u00a0stage of the\u00a0production,\u00a0safely\u00a0removing the tape\u00a0from\u00a0the\u00a0car\u2019s paintwork. The proposed solution\u00a0achieved 99,9% efficiency and\u00a0was approved by the Porsche quality control department.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 Nowadays, automation and digitization of lines seem to be the trending tendencies not only in the automotive branch, but the entire industry in general. The previous year revealed how much manufacturers depend on the human factor. The echoes of downtime in factories after the COVID pandemic have not yet subsided, however, the producers noticed these trends and started to increase the investment in the automation and robotization of production lines, thus improving their quality and making them independent from the human work \u2013 says Szymon\u00a0<\/strong>Kara\u015b<\/strong>, Head of Automotive, Sii.<\/strong> \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Thanks to Sii engineering teams,\u00a0the\u00a0Porsche production line\u00a0can\u00a0efficiently carry the planned design and construction of cars, without unnecessary and costly downtime.\u00a0The delivered works were successfully completed and the line started production even before\u00a0the\u00a0deadline.\u00a0What is more, the client also appreciated the suggestions for improvements, implementing some of them.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n
